Welcome to my studio,
"The Smokin' Alligator Clip Joint"!
Hi, my name is Tawny. I thank you for visiting our web site. First I'll fill you in on some of my background, then lead up to the formation of this web site.
Art has been a hobby of mine all of my life, and although I have made some money with my artwork over the years I have only recently decided to make it my business. I've worked in a wide variety of fields up to this point, including working in a silk screen shop, working as a hair stylist, a lingerie model, and most recently in the medical field. Plus, I was very active in the local rock band scene here in Phoenix in the mid to late 80's and early 90's, and have recently gotten back into it with the start of my new webzine, Electric Pussycat, which includes both a MySpace page and web site.
So, now that my daughter is nearly grown and requires less of my time, I've decided to take up two of my favorite things and make businesses out of them. Those two things are music and art. As stated above, I started a music webzine, but I also started this web site to sell my hemp art. I also do some acrylic painting when I can, and may start a web site to sell my paintings in the future, as well.
As you may have noticed, I prefer to use alligator clips or buttons as clasps for my jewelry. I do this because they make more secure clasps than the typical knots or beads pulled through the loops at the ends of the jewelry items. Plus, in the case of the buttons, some of them are very decorative and add to the other decorative beads, pendants, charms, etc. in the jewelry, becoming another part of the jewelry, especially in the case of my bracelets and anklets. So, I hope you enjoy browsing throught my jewelry, keychain, and alligator clip creations. Thanks to all of you who have purchased my products and thank you for the kind comments. Due to numerous requests, I will now consider taking custom orders on a limited basis, as time permits , and as long as the requested materials/beads/pendants are available.
